My Journey

I decided that I wanted to become a therapist in response to my own navigation of relationships and sexuality. Sexuality has always fascinated me but I grew up in an environment where repression was the norm. I always held the belief that sex is a normal part of life, and began looking more critically at the messages that I had grown up with. As a result, one of my primary goals as a sex therapist is to deconstruct narratives of shame or guilt that may have been internalized, and develop a safe, fulfilling relationship with clients.

Depending on ones own experiences, sex can be empowering, shameful, or scary for people to discuss. Our histories, values, and beliefs, shape the ways in which we view the world around us and contribute to the parts of ourselves that we are able to accept or reject. I aim to help move clients away from fear and guide them to what they want in their lives, relationships, and sex. I approach my work with clients with curiosity and empathy, and take care to ensure that I understand their experiences as authentically as I can.

I adopt an integrationist approach and practice therapy from a systemic, trauma-informed lens, utilizing frameworks such as EFT, IFS, and narrative therapy. I incorporate social-justice and equity into my approach to therapy and believe that it is critical to create a safe relationship free of judgment. I am excited to walk alongside you on your path.
